Concetti di Bastia Umbra, costruttore di sistemi per il confezionamento in sacchi dal 1975, ha realizzato una versione dell’insaccatrice a doppia bocca IPF 40 su misura per questo cliente, integrando un innovativo sistema di ispezione della saldatura con termo camera, usato finora nel settore dell’alimentazione umana.
Si tratta, infatti, della prima insaccatrice per mangimi animali al mondo a montare un sistema di questo genere. Una volta chiuso e saldato, ciascun sacco di mangime viene ispezionato in linea, in pochi secondi, per verificare la perfetta tenuta della saldatura, con lo scopo di preservare a lungo l’ottima qualità del prodotto ed evitare sprechi alimentari. Il sacco non saldato secondo gli standard di qualità richiesti dal produttore, viene espulso dal sistema e il prodotto riutilizzato. Un passo avanti straordinario nel mondo della salute e sicurezza alimentare degli animali da compagnia, con l’occhio attento anche alla sostenibilità.
Ga Petfood Partners lavora con alcuni tra i più importanti marchi di alimenti per animali al mondo. Flessibilità del sistema di confezionamento, qualità e integrità della saldatura rappresentavano fattori cruciali per questo produttore di pet food secco. La confezionatrice IPF 40, con bilancia multitesta ad alta precisione, gestisce in maniera completamente automatica varie tipologie di sacchi preconfezionati da 500 grammi a 5 kg di carta con soffietto, poliaccoppiati, con o senza maniglie intagliate e zip richiudibili, o sacchi “stand up pouch”, a seconda delle necessità dei differenti lotti. In più, se necessario, le insaccatrici Concetti possono gestire anche il sacco da 100 grammi. Il sistema raggiunge una velocità di 1800 sacchi all’ora.
L’impianto è progettato per riempire indistintamente sacchi di vario formato tra 140-300 mm di larghezza e 270-600 mm di lunghezza. La meccanica di alta precisione movimenta delicatamente l’imballo e ne consente una migliore saldatura, fondamentale per la durata del prodotto sullo scaffale della GDO o dei negozi specializzati, in un mercato altamente competitivo come quello del pet food.
La posizione della saldatura nella parte alta del sacco è regolabile attraverso il programma. Per garantire la totale integrità del sacco riempito, insieme all’ottima tecnologia di barre saldanti di Concetti, il sistema incorpora una termocamera ad alta definizione per l’ispezione della saldatura, capace di tracciare con la tecnologia a infrarossi anche i più piccoli errori o difetti rispetto allo standard di qualità previsto dal software. Tutto avviene in maniera veloce, anche in caso di confezioni alluminate o stampate. I sacchi non conformi vengono immediatamente espulsi.
Il sistema di confezionamento di Concetti è dotato di altri dispositivi innovativi che innalzano l’efficienza del processo di confezionamento. Dopo il magazzino sacchi vuoti, ad esempio, un sistema di marcatura laser garantisce un’elevata qualità di stampa di codici a barre, numeri di lotto, contrassegni, loghi, sulla confezione ancora vuota. Un sistema di telecamere verifica che il sacco sia quello giusto per il programma selezionato, per evitare possibili errori che fanno perdere tempo e denaro ai confezionatori di pet food, chiamati a gestire mangimi con formulazioni diverse in molteplici confezioni personalizzate.
Da segnalare, inoltre, la presenza di un metal detector sulla bilancia per escludere la possibilità di contaminazioni del prodotto e la presenza di deviatori che permettono di recuperare il prodotto residuo di fine lotto, senza la necessità di essere imballato.
La Concetti IPF 40 è dotata di cambio di formato del sacco completamente automatico, senza l’intervento manuale dell’operatore, in meno di 90 secondi, che ne assicura la grande versatilità. You can rely on pet owners to choose the best for their four-legged friends. But if using top quality ingredients is central to the health of pets, the packaging method is not less so, especially if we talk about shelf life, preserving taste and fragrance, and convenience of use of the bag itself.
For this reason, the British company GA Pet food Partners, an important producer of grain free and super premium pet food for third parties (100 thousand tons per year), has chosen an innovative packaging system to offer exceptional quality standards, both of the product and of the packaging. Concetti of Bastia Umbra, manufacturer of bag packaging and palletising systems since 1975, has supplied an innovative version of their twin spout IPF 40 tailored to this customer, integrating an innovative seal inspection system using a thermal camera, normally found in the human food sector.
The system supplied to GA Petfood Partners is the first in the world to include this system for animal food. Once filled and sealed, each bag is checked in line, in a few seconds, to verify the integrity of the weld, with the aim of preserving the excellent quality of the product for as long as possible while avoiding unnecessary food waste. Any bags not meeting the quality standards required by the manufacturer are expelled from the system and the product reused. It represents an extraordinary step forward in the world of pet health and food safety, with an eye also towards sustainability.
Ga Petfood Partners work with some of the world’s best known and leading animal food brands. Flexibility of the packaging system, quality and integrity of the weld were crucial factors for this discerning manufacturer of dry pet food. The IPF, equipped with a high precision multi-head weigher, handles a wide range of sizes from 500g to 5kg using pre-made gusseted paper and PE/Aluminium foil bags, with or without handles and resealable zips, and pouches at speeds up to 1800 bags/hr. In addition, if necessary, the Concetti bagging machines can also handle the 100-gram bag. Packs vary in width from 140-300mm and in length 270-600mm.
The high precision mechanical movement of the IPF handles the package gently and provides for better sealing, essential for the durability of the product on the shelves of large-scale distribution, supermarkets or specialized stores, in a highly competitive field.
The position of the heat-sealing line relative to the bag top is programme adjustable. Together with Concetti’s excellent heavy-duty sealing bar technology, the inspection system ensures 100% seal integrity. The thermal camera uses proprietary software and infrared technology to detect poor or potentially faulty packs by comparing each seal against the known standard for each bag type. The device is able to trace very small, consequential errors, quickly and easily, even in the case of printed or aluminized packaging. Imperfect seals are rejected automatically.
The Concetti packaging system is also equipped with many other innovative devices that increase the efficiency of the packaging process. Two steered beam laser marking systems immediately after the empty bag magazines apply batch codes or other markings with virtually no font, code or graphic restrictions, to the empty rather than the filled bags, ensuring the highest quality printing. Cameras verify the bags in the magazine match the selected programme, if not the bag is rejected. This avoids possible packaging errors that cost pet food producers wasted time and money, particularly in the case of many different feed formulations with multiple customised packages.
Drop through metal detectors were supplied and diverters allow residual end-of-batch product to be recovered without needing to be packed.
The IPF 40 comes with servomotor control of most parameters for rapid changeover, usually under 90 seconds, which ensures its great versatility, completing the advantages offered by the Umbrian manufacturer’s bagging machines.
