Questi numeri consolidano la posizione della fiera quale riferimento internazionale nel settore pet food
Si è conclusa l’ultima edizione di IBERZOO+PROPET registrando più di 21.200 persone, pari a un aumento del 12% dei visitatori rispetto all’edizione precedente. Questi dati dimostrano che il settore è in piena espansione, in quanto il settore intero ha partecipato a questa tre giorni di fiera dedicata alla cura e al benessere degli animali da compagnia.
Promossa da AMVAC – Associazione Veterinari per Animali da Compagnia di Madrid – e da AEDPAC – Associazione Spagnola dei Distributori di Prodotti per Animali da Compagnia, IBERZOO+PROPET è già un punto di riferimento nella Penisola Iberica e una magnifica vetrina del mercato internazionale. Oltre a tutte le attrazioni offerte dalla fiera, che ha visto la partecipazione di 40 aziende internazionali, il 10% dei visitatori di IBERZOO+PROPET proveniva dall’estero, in particolare da Portogallo, Italia e Francia.
AMVAC and VetMadrid hanno presentato una sintesi della situazione del settore
Il settore degli animali da compagnia sta assumendo un ruolo importante, come dimostrato dai dati presentati da AEDPAC e AMVAC. La prima presentazione si è basata sul rapporto AEDPAC di HAMILTON, un barometro delle nuove abitudini e dei profili dei padroni di animali domestici in Spagna, e ha affrontato il modo in cui ci prendiamo cura e ci relazioniamo con i nostri animali. I partecipanti hanno ascoltato statistiche interessanti, come il fatto che il 49% delle famiglie spagnole possiede animali domestici, che otto su dieci considerano i loro animali domestici come membri della famiglia e che il 78% delle persone che possiedono animali domestici afferma di averne sempre avuto uno in casa.
D’altro canto, il rapporto settoriale di AMVAC mostra come il settore sia cresciuto. Il settore animale genera attualmente 33.455 milioni di euro per l’economia della Spagna, di cui 5.770 milioni derivano dai piccoli animali. In termini di attività economica, le cliniche veterinarie hanno fatturato 2,61 miliardi, con un aumento dell’8,2% rispetto al rapporto precedente. In totale, ci sono 10.252 aziende di piccoli animali e 7.100 cliniche veterinarie che forniscono 44.000 posti di lavoro diretti (+9,3% rispetto all’anno precedente).
IBERZOO+PROPET: le attività
Le attività sono state un’altra grande attrazione della fiera. Nei diversi spazi congressuali erano disponibili numerose proposte, come ad esempio workshop e dimostrazioni di styling e acconciatura canina, a complemento di tutte le attività fieristiche che si sono svolte nel padiglione 10 di IFEMA MADRID.
I professionisti del settore degli animali da compagnia hanno seguito dibattiti sul benessere e la salute degli animali da compagnia nell’Aula Veterinaria; ci sono state presentazioni sull’allevamento dei pesci, conferenze e dimostrazioni sulle tendenze nel Palco dello Styling Canino, e analisi e dibattiti sulla situazione del settore nel VI Forum AEDPAC; tutti hanno presentato argomenti attuali di grande interesse per il settore. L’apparato digerente e la nutrizione sono stati all’ordine del giorno del 41° Congresso VetMadrid. Inoltre, la conferenza di Artero della durata di due giorni ha offerto un prezioso spettacolo di Dog Grooming e Styling. Durante l’evento, il premio per il “Miglior Salone Rivelazione” è andato ad Ana Frac e il Miglior Stilista Nazionale è stato vinto da Ruben Gonzalez; Dongseok Yoo ha vinto il titolo di Miglior Stilista Internazionale, mentre Fran Manuel ha ritirato il premio di Miglior Stilista Social Media.
I premi Iberzoo+Propet sono stati consegnati durante il Pomeriggio del Settore
Tra le attività svolte durante il Sector Afternoon, un evento che si svolge per la condivisione di informazioni sull’industria degli animali da compagnia, si è svolta la consegna dei premi Iberzoo+Propet, che premiano persone, aziende e istituzioni che hanno dato un supporto eccezionale agli animali da compagnia. Il premio per la carriera professionale nel settore veterinario è stato assegnato a Cristina Fragio, mentre Isaac Parés Grau ha vinto il premio per la migliore carriera professionale nel settore professionale da Gosbi Pet Food. Zootécnica Jerezana ha ricevuto il premio per il miglior rivenditore in Spagna; il premio alla carriera professionale nel campo della protezione degli animali è stato assegnato alla ONG Los Cuatro de la Empanadilla; il premio per l’iniziativa che ha migliorato la convivenza con gli animali domestici in città è andato al Ministero della Famiglia, della Gioventù e delle Politiche Sociali della Comunità di Madrid per la campagna Terapie Assistite con Animali (TAA). Infine, il Premio Impulse è andato a José Luis Barrera Morales di Petbiotics Vetcare e il Premio José Zúñiga, AMVAC Solidario, è stato vinto dalla ONG Alas Gambia.

These figures consolidate the trade fair’s position as an international benchmark in the pet industry sector
The latest edition of IBERZOO+PROPET is over. This time, the trade fair welcomed more than 21,200 people, registering a 12% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous edition. These data show that the sector is booming, as the sector turned out in force for the three-day event featuring the latest in pet care and welfare.
This fair, promoted by AMVAC, the Madrid Association of Pet Veterinarians, and AEDPAC, the Spanish Association of Pet Product Distributors, is already a benchmark on the Iberian Peninsula and a magnificent showcase of the international market. In addition to all the attractions at the exhibition, which featured 40 international companies, 10% of visitors to IBERZOO+PROPET were from abroad, particularly Portugal, Italy, and France.
AMVAC and VetMadrid presented a summary of the situation in the sector
The pet sector is on a role, as was made evident by the data presented by AEDPAC and AMVAC. The first presentation was based on the AEDPAC report by HAMILTON, a barometer of the pet parents’ new habits and profiles in Spain, and addressed the way we care for and relate to our animals. Attendees heard interesting statistics such as the fact that 49% of households in Spain have pets, that eight out of ten look upon their pets as members of the family, and that 78% of people with pets say that they have always had a pet in the home.
On the other hand, the AMVAC sector report shows how the sector has grown. The animal sector currently generates 33,455 million euros to Spain’s economy, 5,770 million euros of which depends on small animals. In terms of economic activity, veterinary clinics turned over 2.61 billion, which is up 8.2% compared to the previous report. In total, there are 10,252 small animal companies and 7,100 veterinary clinics, which provide 44,000 direct jobs (9.3% more than in the previous year).
IBERZOO+PROPET activities
Activities were another great attraction at the fair. Numerous proposals were available in the different conference spaces, such as activity workshops and styling and canine hairdressing demonstrations, to complement all the trade fair activities that took place in Hall 10 of IFEMA MADRID.
Pet sector professionals learned about the well-being and pet health in the Aula Veterinaria; there were presentations on fish keeping, talks and demonstrations about trends on the Canine Styling Stage, and analysis and debate about the situation of the sector at the VI AEDPAC Forum; all with current topics of interest to the sector. The digestive system and nutrition were on the agenda at the 41st VetMadrid Congress. In addition, the two-day Artero Conference was a valuable Dog Grooming and Styling show. During the event, the award for “Best Revelation Salon” went to Ana Frac and the Best National Stylist was won by Ruben Gonzalez; Dongseok Yoo won the title of Best International Stylist, while Fran Manuel accepted the Best Social Media Stylist award.
The Iberzoo+Propet awards were handed out at the Sector Afternoon
Among the activities held during the Sector Afternoon – an event for sharing information about the pet industry – was the handing out of the Iberzoo+Propet awards. These awards recognise individuals, companies and institutions that have given outstanding support to pets. The Professional Career in the Veterinary Field award was handed to Cristina Fragio, and Isaac Parés Grau won the award for the best Professional career in the professional field from Gosbi Pet Food. Zootécnica Jerezana accepted the award to the Best Retailer in Spain; the award for Professional Career in the Field of Animal Protection was awarded to the NGO Los Cuatro de la Empanadilla; and the prize for the initiative that enhanced coexistence with pets in the city went to the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy of the Community of Madrid for the Assisted Therapies with Animals (TAA) campaign. Last but not least, the Impulse Award went to José Luis Barrera Morales from Petbiotics Vetcare and the José Zúñiga Award, AMVAC Solidario, was won by the NGO Alas Gambia.
