The new I-Flex bagging machine is born, taking Concetti flexibility even further
Flexibility is the great challenge of every plant for the production of loose products packed in pre-made open-mouth bags. Especially for small and medium-sized feed mills that need to optimise production for reasons of space and cost control, when packing several types of different products with the same equipment. The ability to easily manage batches that are different from each other in terms of physical characteristics and type of product – pellets, flakes, mixed flakes and flours – through a simple and fast automatic format change, managed without the operator’s manual intervention, becomes a real plus in terms of efficiency and production continuity.
Concetti of Bastia Umbra, Italy, have been operating in the packaging industry for more than 40 years and understand well the needs of dry bulk feed manufacturers. The new I-Flex is Concetti’s response to those needs, a system for filling open-mouthed bags of granular products, featuring infinite versatility, simplicity and compactness. The I-Flex acronym stands for “Infinite Flexibility” which indicates the great flexibility and potential of a bagging machine born to work with fully automatic format change and a very wide range of bag widths from 250 to 600 mm. I-Flex offers the possibility of managing various types and closure of paper, raffia and plastic bags with just one system. The machine’s production is up to 600 bags/hour.

The bagger arrives on the market with a compact and functional design, representing a leap forward in the field of machine flexibility, something considered to be the great contemporary challenge for suppliers of loose bulk material packaging systems the world over. This is particularly true in Spain, as evidenced through a market investigation by Boga Tecnica, agent of Concetti for the Iberian Peninsula, which identified the need for a new model of bagging machine.
I-Flex, equipped with a belt feeding system for feed, is designed and built entirely by Concetti engineers and designers for a Spanish customer in the feed industry who will be the first to experience the advantages of the new bagging machine. The model has been designed for producers of loose free-flowing materials, dealing with frequent packaging changes, limited space and the need to obtain the maximum in terms of versatility from the single plant. Concetti of Bastia Umbra is one of the few European companies to design, build and test everything within its factory for total control of the quality of packaging and palletizing systems.
One of the most interesting Industry 4.0 features of the bagger is a state-of-the-art intelligent control panel that can be viewed and managed by a mobile device, such as a tablet, smartphone or laptop, for simple and rapid machine management by the operator. The system can also display the status of the machine in real time and production data, through an interface accessible again from any mobile device. Plant and production managers appreciate this level of functionality, particularly the latter.
The packaging machine also integrates an automatic system that prints and applies (print-apply) adhesive labels of various sizes in real time on the empty bags. The labels can be customised and can have the logo, the contents of the bags, weight, lot, barcodes and other information required by the law. The labelling machine can also be interfaced with the company server for information exchange.
The filling line can be equipped with palletising system and end-of-line machines. Concetti specialises in the supplying of complete weighing, bagging and palletising systems, tailored to the specific needs of the customer.

I-Flex, che monta in questo caso un sistema di alimentazione a nastro NET/N, è stata realizzata interamente dagli ingegneri, progettisti e tecnici di Concetti per un cliente spagnolo del settore mangimistico che sperimenterà per primo le doti della nuova insaccatrice. Il modello nasce espressamente per i produttori di materiali sfusi scorrevoli, alle prese con cambi di imballo frequenti, spazi ridotti e necessità di ottenere il massimo in termini di versatilità dal singolo impianto. Concetti di Bastia Umbra, tra l’altro, è una delle poche aziende europee a progettare, costruire, testare tutto all’interno della propria fabbrica per un controllo totale della qualità dei propri sistemi di confezionamento e palettizzazione.
Tra gli accessori “intelligenti” dell’insaccatrice, da segnalare un pannello di controllo di ultima generazione che può essere visualizzato anche da dispositivo mobile, come tablet, smartphone o computer portatile, per una semplice e rapida gestione della macchina da parte dell’operatore. Il sistema consente anche la visualizzazione dello stato della macchina in tempo reale e dei dati di produzione da remoto, mediante un’interfaccia accessibile da qualsiasi dispositivo mobile. Una funzionalità, quest’ultima, particolarmente apprezzata da direttori di stabilimento e direttori di produzione.
La confezionatrice integra poi un sistema automatico che stampa e applica (print-apply) etichette adesive di varie dimensioni in tempo reale sui sacchi. Le etichette possono essere personalizzate e riportare il marchio del produttore, il contenuto dei sacchi, il peso, i codici a barre e altre informazioni previste dalla normativa. L’etichettatrice può anche essere interfacciata con il server aziendale per l’invio di informazioni.
Il sistema di imballaggio si completa con palettizzatore e fine linea. Concetti è specializzato nella fornitura di sistemi di pesatura, insacco e palettizzazione completi, progettati su misura per le specifiche esigenze del cliente.
